Mcdonalds heist
The McDonald’s Heist was my capstone project at university, where I independently produced a short film from concept to completion. This project required extensive planning and the creation of a full video production pipeline. Over six months, I explored various techniques, including 3D modeling, character rigging, lighting, and editing. The final product was created using tools such as Blender, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Animate.
Concept Development and Storytelling
Assembling a team
The story was inspired by classic heist films, focusing on assembling the ultimate crew to pull off the job. I chose McDonald's as a comedic and unexpected location for the heist, imagining how aliens might find the fast-food chain both foreign and visually appealing. Each character was designed with distinct personalities, making their roles within the team instantly recognizable—the leader, the brawn, and the brains.
Animatic
Once the characters were fully designed, I shifted focus to building the scene and creating a rough animatic. I had a lot of fun incorporating as many comedic elements as possible, ensuring that humor was front and center. It was crucial to capture the overall tone and vibe early on, giving a clear sense of how the final product would come together.
